In Champion City, would be superheroes like The Shoveler, The Blue Raja and Mr. Furious can't seem to make a difference and impress either the city or its greatest superhero, Captain Amazing. However, when Captain Amazing is captured by his greatest enemy, Cassanova Frankenstein, these stumblebum heroes must join with other superhero hopefuls to save the Captain and the city. In order to generate more endorsement revenue, Champion City's resident superhero Captain Amazing arranges for the release of supervillain Casanova Frankenstein, only to be captured by him. The city's fate rests in the hands of seven loser superhero wannabes: the spoon-flinging Blue Rajah, the shovel-wielding Shoveler, the possessed bowling ball-hurling Bowler, the flatulent Spleen, the only-when-nobody's-looking Invisible Boy, the mysterious Sphinx, and the perpetually-angry Mr. Furious. Captain Amazing (Greg Kinnear) has always kept Champion City safe from the evil bad guys, keeping a band of wannabe super heroes in the shadows; but when Captain Amazing is captured by his arch nemesis Cassanova Frankenstein (Geoffrey Rush) its finally time for The Blue Raja (Hank Azaria), The Shoveller (William H. Macy), Mr. Furious (Ben Stiller) and more to step foreword and save the day.

Mystery Men is littered with truly ridiculous characters, each with their own spin on the superhero as we know it and they all perform brilliantly to make this film a very crazy and very funny ride.

7/10 it's very silly and great fun I'm glad I knew this was a comic book (that I unfortunately never read) before seeing this, otherwise I do not think I would have liked this as much as I did. I appreciated the fact that this film did not go down the dead-end alley that the Batman series did; it's hyping the kitch rather than trying to avoid it. Kudos to William Macy who has yet to find difficulty in mastering a part, to Ben Stiller (the film industry has yet to uncover his genius, although his role in this one left me longing for a little more), Paul Reubens(who got a bad rap for that whole controversy), to Geoffery Rush…well I guess I could go on like this about each actor/ess (Janeane Garofolo just keeps getting sexier every day)(enough with the parenthetical statements!), because I have to say that the enormous star power and talent in this film may be the only downfall. The fact that each person in this film has such ability, capacity or potential that there is not enough time to fit it all in. I love Tom Waits, and I like him in this; he is beyond classification as an artist. I love Eddie Izzard, his ability as a comedian is underplayed. So much is in this film, perhaps they are toying with the idea of a sequel. I would not mind this in the least. This one was like grandma's gravy that was so good and decadent you can only tolerate it on Thanksgiving. Well I was thankful for this decadence and would look forward to it for next year. This spoof's heart is genuinely warm. The Mystery Men originated as the team name of misfit Super Heroes led by "The Flaming Carrot." "Flaming Carrot Comics," by Bob Burden, was originally published by Aardvark-Vanaheim, then by Renegade Press and Dark Horse Comics between 1984 and 1993. The book has since relaunched in 2005 with Image Comics.

From the official Mysterymen website:

"…all you really need is a snappy costume and a cool name for the Mysterymen, the human cannon fodder of the war on crime. At their peak, they numbered about 30 (The Dirty Thirty) but it's hard to come up with an exact figure on them because of high casualty rates, the highest of any superhero team in the history of the medium."

Original comic book members:

Flaming Carrot, The Shoveler, Jackpot, Mr.Furious, Screwball, Captain Attack, Bondo Man, Jumpin' Jehosaphat, Red Rover, The Strangler, The Spleen, the Metro Marauder, Hummer, Disc Man, Jumo the Magnificent, the Whisperer, Mystic Hand, Star Shark, the Zeke.

Members invented for the movie:

The Bowler, the Blue Raja, the Sphinx, Invisible Boy

In the comics, the Mysterymen have also teamed up with the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles - twice. a5c7b9f00b Jack Reacher download movie freeThe Kid Comes Back full movie downloadTransformers: Age of Extinction online freeDownload Episode 1.145 full movie in hindi dubbed in Mp4The Phantom Rider full movie download in hindiEpisode 1.140 download torrentthe Stardust on the Sage full movie in hindi free downloadAtlantis: The Lost Empire movie free download in hindiNext in hindi free downloadThe Humanity Bureau full movie in hindi 1080p download
